Kinesiology Taping

Using elastic therapeutic tape, also known as Kinesiology Tape, we aim to ease the pain and disability from (athletic) injuries and many other physical disorders. It is not applied as a standalone treatment, but will be combined with therapeutic work such as Remedial Massage Therapy or Sports Massage Therapy.

The therapeutic taping technique was initially developed to enhance athletic performance. Now, it is also used in pain management, soft tissue injury, tissues and joint malalignment, oedema, and promotes lymphatic drainage by lifting the skin on a microscopic level.

This special tape helps will help to improve the circulation in the body, allow injuries to heal, and will prevent further damage to muscles while still allowing motion.

Hay fever

Many people suffer more and more from hay fever, it is the downside to the start of the spring season. It is the allergic reaction to the release of pollen by nature mostly between late March and September, especially when it is warm, humid and windy. This is when the pollen count is at its highest.

Symptoms of hay fever include:

  • Sneezing and coughing
  • A runny or blocked nose
  • Itchy, red or watery eyes
  • Itchy throat, mouth, nose and ears
  • Loss of smell
  • Pain around the temples and forehead
  • Headaches
  • Earaches
  • Feeling tired

A large number of hay fever patients benefit of kinesiology taping on their back, the so called "hay fever tape". This will be applied with a little bit of stretch around the shoulder blades to alleviate the symptoms of hay fever.

The tape will remain on the back for about 5 days, and showering or swimming is no problem. After 5 days, most clients come in for a second taping to help them through the hay fever season as it helps to ease your nervous system. Only a small group will have to come in for a third time.
